Colorbond Ultra Activate AM150 Steel Roofing Sheets
Colorbond AM150 is a metallic coating mass of 150 grams per square meter (g/m2 ) on COLORBOND® Ultra steel. The coating is made from an aluminium/magnesium (am) alloy.
Features
- 1. Corrosion resistance: COLORBOND® Ultra steel is designed to be durable and corrosion-resistant.
- 2. Severe environments: It’s suitable for use in marine and industrial environments.
- 3. Heat reflection: The paint system includes an SRI pigment that reflects heat, keeping surfaces cooler.
- 4. Clean technology: The paint system prevents tropical staining.
- 5. Resistance to solvents: It’s resistant to accidental spills of solvents like methylated spirits, white spirits, and mineral turpentine.
Uses
1. Roofing & Cladding: Colorbond ultra steel can be used for roofing and cladding in severe marine environments.
2. Outside ceiling lining: It can be used for outside ceiling lining or eave ceiling finish panels.

Understand Colour fading and delamination
Colour fading occurs when key ingredients in the paint system degrade, while delamination is the separation of the topcoat from the primer caused by UV effects, poor surface preparation, or improper paint formulation.
Clean COLORBOND™ steel solves these problems through its proprietary paint system. The effectiveness depends on multiple layers of coating working together to create an effective overall protection.
BlueScope Steel utilizes optimum paint formulation and pigment blends with oven-baked application to provide excellent long-term colour stability.
This system has been proven in the Ghanaian climate to provide superior durability against weathering and UV penetration compared to conventional prepainted steel.
Thermatech™ allows you to take your architectural dreams to the skies by protecting your building from harsh UV rays.
This innovative solar reflectance technology is incorporated into Clean COLORBOND® steel to lower surface temperatures by absorbing less heat from the sun, significantly reducing your energy costs.
The technology reduces peak roof temperatures by up to 6°C, acting as added insulation that makes it easier for air conditioning systems to maintain comfortable building temperatures.
A Clean COLORBOND™ steel roof with Thermatech™ not only reduces solar radiation absorption but also effectively re-radiates heat. Even darker colored Clean COLORBOND™ steel products benefit from this technology, absorbing less energy to create cooler roofs and more comfortable buildings year-round.
The term ‘clean’ in Clean COLORBOND® represents the revolutionary paint system specifically designed to resist dirt staining and bonding. In Ghana’s climate, the harmattan season brings abundant airborne dirt particles that, when combined with heat and humidity, typically bond with conventional pre-painted roofing sheets. This bonding eventually forms dark stains and leads to premature color fading and aging.
Clean COLORBOND® steel’s unique paint system prevents this dirt bonding, keeping any surface particles loose so they can be easily washed away by rainfall, maintaining your roof’s appearance and longevity.
Clean COLORBOND® features a premium AM150 coating, providing 150 grams of protective coating per square meter of steel.
This AM150 specification delivers robust protection with a coating composition of aluminum and Magnesium that works synergistically to provide optimal corrosion resistance.
The advanced coating system offers both sacrificial and barrier protection, ensuring long-lasting durability and performance for your roofing investment.
This high-quality coating is engineered to withstand challenging environmental conditions, maintaining the structural integrity and appearance of your roof over time.
